I have always been a person who walks to the beat of my own drummer and that is one of the reasons I became a librarian. We are the keepers of information. A very powerful thing.
With the role of libraries changing, I believe that we as librarians also need to change with them. We need to find new ways to stay alive in our communities. These ten librarians have done just that. My goal is to be on this list someday!

This is why I became a librarian. I believe that everyone deserves to have access to information, no matter what their economic or social standing is.
“Individuals need places where they can engage with others like and unlike them, with whom they share an affiliation just by virtue of inhabiting a particular city, town, or neighborhood. Groups of people need places that can help constitute them into and symbolically represent their community.”
